Bedtime Books Tag

  Sup peeps?
Greetings friends!
Aloha!

Hi!
Today I'll be doing a book tag.

I was tagged by Kathryn.
This looks like a fun tag! I love to read at night, I do so before I go to sleep almost every night. A lot of times I get caught reading past midnight... Bad habit when you have to get up for school at 6.
To the questionios!

1. A BOOK THAT KEPT YOU UP ALL NIGHT.

THE NEPTUNE PROJECT. Oh my gosh... I pretty much read this in one sitting. It was amazing and just- YES.

2. A BOOK THAT MADE YOU SCARED TO SLEEP.

I usually don't read scary books. This one is hard. Let me think... hmm... |
OH I KNOW. NIGHT. This was so creepy! It gave me chills. I can't believe all that really happened. (It's about the holocaust)

3. A BOOK THAT MADE YOU GO TO SLEEP.

The Hobbit. Sorry Tolkien fans, just... *starts snoring*

4. A BOOK THAT LEFT YOU TOSSING AND TURNING ALL NIGHT IN ANTICIPATION OF ITS RELEASE.

I waited SO LONG for A Grimm Warning! Chris Colfer is big on cliff hangers.

5. A BOOK THAT HAS YOUR DREAM BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND

I have sooooo many. Book people are way better than real people. Let's see... My top 3 are...

1. Peeta
2. Grover
3. Bumblestripe

(Yes 2/3 of those aren't human...)

Bleh. No picture/drawing/movie photo is anywhere near how I imagined him.

Yup, he's a cat.
6. A BOOK THAT WOULD BE YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE TO LIVE IN.
The Hunger Games and pretty much any other dystopian. People like to write about the future being awful, don't they?

7. A BOOK THAT REMINDS YOU OF NIGHT TIME.

I've been thinking about this for like twenty minutes and I just don't know so... I don't know. Ummmmmmmm.... You know what, instead of an answer you're getting a picture of my dog.
Sleepy Mia.

8. A BOOK THAT HAD A NIGHTMARISH CLIFFHANGER.

Like I said, every single Chris Colfer book has an awful, horrible, EVIL cliff hanger.

9. A BOOK YOU ACTUALLY DREAMED ABOUT.

I don't think I've dreamed about a book???? How is that?! That is soooo weird.

10. A BOOK MONSTER YOU WOULDN’T WANT TO FIND UNDER YOUR BED.

A dementor. Voldemort. Fluffy. Why is Harry Potter so scary?!

I tag...
Anyone who'd like to do this!
I'd feel bad if I missed someone.

And that's all for today folks!
Hope you enjoyed this tag!

Ode To Horses

Hi!
I had to write an Ode for reading homework. Weird that it wasn't in english class, isn't it? Anyway, here it is.

Ode to Horses
Powerful hooves beat the ground.
Flowing tails glide through the air.
Like a bullet, they gallop by.
They are soaring eagles when they run.

Clippety clop. Clippety clop.
The sound of their hooves is soothing.
Quiet whinnies sound from the stalls,
their warm breath is like a whisper of reassurance.

Gently eyes and a soft nose.
The smell of hay is faint and sweet.
Tails swish from side to side like old clocks,
I smile.

Do you like it?

P.S: I won't be posting A Lost World anymore since nobody read it.

A Lost World - Page 12

A Lost World-Page 12-Honeypaw/Rainpaw POV

Honeypaw sat in the front of the crowd, waiting for her litter mates to become full warriors. They were all lined up beneath the High Branch, where Petalstar sat. "It is my honor," Petalstar meowed strongly, "To present seven apprentices before StarClan today, and make them full warriors of LeafClan."
"Rainpaw, please bring yourself to the High Branch. With a strong leap, Rainpaw sprang onto the High Branch. He gasped as he saw the crowd of cats so far below him. Petalstar, turning to him said, "I, Petalstar, leader of LeafClan, call down upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. "
"Rainpaw," Petalstar meowed, her fur shining in the evening sunlight, "Do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and defend and protect your clan even at the cost of your life?" With a bold breath Rainpaw mewed, "I do.". "Then," Petalstar said, "By the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Rainpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Raintail!" The cats cheered for Raintail, and his heart grew with happiness at finally being a warrior. "Thank you Petalstar." He said as he licked his leaders shoulder.
At the end of the long ceremony, Honeypaw bounded up to her litter-mates, who were now Raintail, Ivysplash, Flamfeather, Sparrowheart, and Stormstep. They all gleamed at her, Flamefeather seemed especially excited. Honeypaw spotted Mistybird padding towards her. "Gotta go!" She mewed to her litter-mates.
"It's time to go, Honeypaw." Mistybird mewed kindly. Honeypaw tingled with excitement and nodded as they passed out of LeafClan camp and into the forest. The trees were tall and the branches broad above them, but they soon got smaller as they reached RoseClan territory. Wildflowers spread across all open space here, making it hard for Honeypaw to look up, they were beautiful! Then Honeypaw saw something white as snow moving through the tall grass and flowers. "Hello Frostedleaf." Mistybird meowed a greeting to the RoseClan medicine cat. The pale she cat stood up so that she was fully visible, and shook the brightly colored petals from her pelt. "Hello." She mewed, "I see you've brought your new apprentice." Honeypaw flattened her ears and mewed shyly, "Hello."
"This is Honeypaw." Mistybird meowed, nudging the dusty apprentice. Frostedleaf lifted a snow-white paw and bent her head in a greeting gesture. Honeypaw did the same, smiling. "Well, we best be moving on." Mistybird said, starting off towards the Moonden located at the edge of RoseClan territory and the Beyond.
Honeypaw was surprised by what she saw at the Moonden. It was simply a ratty old bramble den, with a hole in the low roof. "How does it stay up when it rains?" Honeypaw asked. She expected the Moonden to be majestic and beautiful, but it really wasn't. "StarClan protects it." Mistybird said simply. They waited outside a moment and soon the CaveClan and SwampClan medicine cats could be seen padding towards the Moonden.
As they approached, Honeypaw saw three cats, two matching black she-cats with gleaming yellow eyes, and one brown tom with lighter paws. Mistybird and Frostleaf mewed, "Greetings." In unison. "Come," Mistybird meowed, "The sun is already down." All the cats entered the Moonden. It was a tight fit, but it was very warm and surprisingly sheltered from the cold winds of the outside.
"Honeypaw, It is time for you to become a real medicine cat apprentice." Honeypaw's whiskers tingled with anticipation. "Is it your wish to enter the mysteries of StarClan as a medicine cat?" "It-It is." Honeypaw stuttered. "Then come forward." All the medicine cats stepped foward, under the hole that moonlight was seeping through. Slowly, with butterflies in her stomach, Honeypaw padded under the light, and Mistybird whispered in her ear, "Keep your head down for now."
Quietly yet strongly, Mistybird meowed,  "Warriors of StarClan, I present you with this apprentice. She is learning your ways and the ways of the great methods of healing we use, and because of this I present her to you as my apprentice." "Now look up." She whispered in Honeypaw's ear.
As Honeypaw raised her head to the stars above, she collapsed onto the grassy floor, terrified, Honeypaw realized she couldn't move. The world around her started to turn fuzzy, and after a moment all she saw was bright light. Slowly though, shapes began to form, and Honeypaw could make out a blurred form of a she-cat standing before her.
Suddenly, Honeypaw's vision was clear. "Windrose!" She cried out with joy. Racing up to her mother, Honeypaw felt tears of joy slide down her face, wetting her brown fur. "Hello Honeypaw." Windrose said, smiling, her aura of warmth radiating off her. She was truly a wonderful mother.
"I'm so proud of you!" Windrose exclaimed, suddenly bursting with happiness at getting to speak with her kit she'd had to leave behind too early. "I'm so glad you've become a medicine cat," The long-haired she-cat starting pouring her heart out to her kit, "And your brothers and Ivypaw- I mean Ivysplash, they're warriors!" Honeypaw grinned, but as she blinked, she felt herself falling, and when she opened her eyes Windrose was gone and a dark black she-cat with golden eyes and tattered fur replaced her, "We're running out of time!" She hissed. And Honeypaw woke with a start, her heart pounding in her chest.

A Lost World - Chapter 11

Chapter 11-Stormpaw POV- 4 Moons Later

Stormpaw's stomach was twisted in knots as he set out into the woods for the hunting portion of his warrior assessment. He wished he could have taken his assessment in new-leaf, when there was plenty of prey, but no, it was still leaf-bare, and Stormpaw was being watched while he hunted. He saw his mentor Rosepool's ginger pelt pass by in the bushes, but he pretended not to notice.
Stormpaw sniffed the air, he smelled a faint trace of squirrel. He padded cautiously along, until the scent was stronger. He shifted his hips down into a hunting crouch and slowly moved his paws forward. His long grey fur rustled some leaves and he dug his claws into the ground waiting for the squirrel ahead of him to run. Stormpaw saw he squirrel's head jerk upwards, and he knew he had to hurry before it darted up a tree out of his reach. He gathered his strength and sprang into the squirrel, killing it with a swift nip to the neck.
Stormpaw's chest swelled with pride as he buried his catch in leaves to retrieve at the end of his assessment. He sniffed the air once more, but this time there was no prey-scent. Traveling farther into the woods, he caught a glimpse of Flamepaw's vivid coat. Stormpaw crouched down in case Flamepaw was about to catch something. It was extremely important that Flamepaw do well on his hunting assessment, because he wasn't a very good in battle training. Stormpaw lifted his head up, and spotted Flamepaw stealthily sneaking up on a blackbird. Sadly, Flamepaw stepped on a dry leaf, alerting the blackbird he was stalking who flew away into the sky. Flamepaw cursed, "Fox-dung!" And Stormpaw carried along.
Stormpaw had caught two more mice by the time Rosepool came to tell him his assessment was over. "Did-did I pass?" Stormpaw asked, shaking. "Of course you did." Rosepool mewed warmly, blinking her soft blue eyes. Stormpaw's face lit up and he raced back to camp, stopping only to retrieve his squirrel from the ground.
He met his siblings along the way, and Honeypaw darted up to them as soon as they reached the camp entrance. "Did you pass?" She asked them all. Her eyes lingered on Flamepaw in worry. All the apprentices nodded in excitement except for Flamepaw, he stood with his head hung, and his tail drooped. "Fla-Flamepaw?" Honeypaw mewed carefully. The Flamepaw exploded with joy, "Yes!" He shouted, practically bursting with excitement. Every cat's eyes flooded with relief and they cheered together, they couldn't wait to be warriors. Honeypaw then smiled at them and whispered, "Mistybird said it's time I go to the Moonden." Her soon-to-be-warrior litter-mates were excited by the idea of the mysterious Moonden. Honeypaw just smiled, but her paws were tingling with anticipation.

Note: Since these Clans are different than the 4 regular Clans, I changed some of their traditions. One being that medicine cat apprentices do not visit the Moonpool/stone/den until the medicine cat decides they are ready to face StarClan, not on their first half-moon of apprenticeship.

A Lost World - Chapter 10

Chapter 10 - Mistybird POV - 1 moon later

Mistybird yawned as she got up from her nest and began to lick her paw. Honeypaw was already up on her paws, sorting through the herb storages. A brisk wind blew through the camp, and Mistybird shivered. It was leaf-bare now, and while the clan was doing fine, She was worried about the moons to come.
"Good morning." She mewed to Honeypaw. "Oh good morning Mistybird!" Honeypaw said with happiness. It seemed like Honeypaw never worried. Mistybird sighed, she remembered what she had to do that day. "What's wrong?" Honeypaw asked, turning to face the large grey medicine cat. "Honeypaw," Mistybird mewed, "I need you to go get Flamepaw, Stonepaw, Rainpaw, Sparrowpaw, and Ivypaw, then meet me outside of camp." "All of them...?" Honeypaw asked, confused. "Yes." Mistybird replied, and she quickly walked out of LeafClan camp.
Mistybird sat down outside camp in the early morning sunshine. "Hey Mistybird." Petalstar meowed poking her head out of the camp entrance. "Oh... Hi." Mistybird said, startled. "What are you doing out here?" Petalstar eyed Mistybird skeptically. "Oh... oh- Just collecting some... poppy seeds!" Mistybird panicked, scuffling her paws along the ground, lucky for her, some wilted poppies were on the ground beside her. "Well, okay then." Petalstar replied, she ducked back under the passageway into camp, but Mistybird doubted she believed her. With a flick of her tail, she stood up, just in time to hear the commotion of six cats pushing their way out of camp.
"Sorry Mistybird, Rainfur stopped us." Honeypaw said apologetically. "That's alright, come" Mistybird said, she motioned with her tail and soon the group of cats were moving along through the forest, traveling as far away from camp as possible. They couldn't risk any cat hearing what was about to be revealed.
"Stop." Mistybird said. The cats behind her stumbled at the abrupt stop and then sat down. "What is going on?" Ivypaw hissed, "It's freezing out here!" "I know, I know," Mistybird mewed, "But this can't wait. I should have told you long ago..."
"Told us what?!" Flamepaw asked, obviously very confused.
"Listen, eight moons ago, before you were born, I had a vision. A prophecy." Clearing her throat, Mistybird repeated the prophecy that was uttered to her in a cloudy vision, "Six cats of wind and rain will travel far, to find forgotten kin."
After a moment, the litter-mates all understood what the old cat told them. "That doesn't make sense!" Sparrowpaw exclaimed, we can't be part of a prophecy!" "Forgotten kin? What forgotten kin?" Ivypaw hissed. "Huh? What?!" Rainpaw shouted. "Travel where?" The cats all spoke in a jumbled rush of confusion.
"Quiet!" It was Honeypaw who spoke. "Let- Let Mistybird talk." The chaos settled and the medicine cat said in a pained voice, "Yes, you ARE part of the prophecy. I can't change that, but I will help you. Listen, something bad is coming, I don't know what yet, but you're going to change that. I'll explain more as I learn more... Your mentors must be waiting. Go now, don't worry yet, there will be plenty of time for that, for now, just focus on your training. Goodbye." Every stunned one of the cats slowly got up and wandered back to camp. Honeypaw stayed though, "So it is true..." She mumbled, squinting her eyes.

AWOW - Warriors Fanfic - Chapter 9

"Put more push into your pounce!" Sparrowpaw's mentor, Gingerpelt shouted at him as he landed on top of a black and white apprentice twice his size. He threw Sparrowpaw off easily, twisting around and flipping him over. "Nice job Thornpaw!" Gingerpelt meowed.  Sparrowpaw bristled with anger, he despised Thornpaw.
"Hey Sparrowpaw!!!!!" An unmistakable cheery voice rang through the clearing. Sparrowpaw twisted around and bounded over to join his sister. "H-Honeypaw! You're... up!" He stammered. "Yes..." Honeypaw replied sheepishly. "That's great." Sparrowpaw meowed.
"You should probably get back to training though." Honeypaw whispered, she'd noticed Thornpaw and Gingerpelt staring, Gingerpelt didn't seem to mind, but Thornpaw looked annoyed that their training session had been interrupted. "Oh, right!" Sparrowpaw said, he would have much rather talked to his sister than get beat up by Thornpaw, but he didn't argue.
Honeypaw went to talk to her siblings one by one, they were all astonished to find her back to her normal, cheerful self.
Later that day, Honeypaw, settling down to eat a mouse, looked up at the setting sun. "Beautiful." She whispered.
Ivypaw came to sit next to her. "Isn't it?" She mewed. Then she went quiet. "Look over there." She whispered. She pointed to Rainpaw, he was sitting with Maplepaw. Rainpaw licked Maplepaw's ear, and whispered something to her. Honeypaw smiled warmly, "I know." She told Ivypaw.

A Whole Other World: + Chapter.... whatever the next one is.

"Honeypaw, you okay?" Ivypaw whispered, slipping into the dark medicine den. Honeypaw shuffled in her nest, but didn't reply. "Hello?" Ivypaw mewed carefully. Honeypaw hadn't been herself since Windrose's death, and had hardly done anything since. Flamepaw, Sparrowpaw, Rainpaw, and Stormpaw appeared behind Ivypaw. Sometimes Honeypaw wished she hadn't been born in such a big litter. "Go away." She murmered.
"Windrose wouldn't have wanted you to act like this. She'd want you to be happy." Rainpaw meowed, pushing himself to the front, which wasn't hard considering his size.
"Shoo!" Mistybird mewed through a mouthful of herbs. The crowd of Honeypaw's litter-mates moved aside, and the grumpy medicine cat came into the den, dropping a pile of leaves and seeds. She glanced at Honeypaw and sighed, "You have to get up dear." Honeypaw flicked her tail in refusal but Mistybird grabbed the scruff of her neck and stood her up. "Go get me some chervil, we're running out." Honeypaw glanced over at the herb supply, there were more than enough chervil leaves.
"But-" Honeypaw tried to protest, but Mistybird stopped her, "Go. Get. Some. Chervil." Her blue eyes were stern, so Honeypaw stepped out of the medicine den. Although she was too guilty to admit it, relief rushed over her. She could almost feel Mistybird's warm gaze behind her.
