Randomness and My Sketchbook
'Ello!
What's up? I wasn't sure what to post today, as I feel like I have bombarded you with my lousy writing enough lately. Despite that, I wanted to post, so I took my sketchbook out and took pictures of every page. (I probably won't post all of them.) Before I share my rather pathetic artwork with you, I'd like to share some randomness that I feel you need to see. First off...
My brother's photograph. He is amazing. Then again, he does have a great camera... I have only my iPhone. Either way this picture is astonishing, he took it for photography class. My apologies for the shadow of me taking a picture of his picture. Second,
That's Gruff. Isn't he cute? He's from Tinkerbell and the Legend Of The Netherbeast. Watch that movie, and you'll be in love with this cute fella. He kind of reminds me of Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon.
Okay, now you get to see my sketchbook. It's rather embarrassing...
That's umm... a flower. Yeah.
That would be a girl I know's horse, Eva The Diva. I did horribly in drawing her, the muzzle looks like a beak, her front leg is coming out of her chest, and her ears are cone-shaped. What the heck was I thinking???
Ugh Blogger is being so annoying... Anyway, here's a drawing of my horse, Ruby Tuesday.
Sorry it's sideways, I'm too lazy to go fix it on Picmonkey. Just tilt your head, It's Toothless the dragon.
Doodling...
I think that's a fox.
It's a BLUE owl! Yaaaaaay.... -_-
It's a girl... she's either dancing or jumping. You decide.
Umm... no comment.
I drew this dog a while ago. I feel like it doesn't look right, but I can't tell what's wrong!
WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THAT?! This horse is totally not proportionate, and the legs... don't get me started.
I kind of like this one! It's a very arab-looking horse, trotting down the hill. The only thing is... the shadow. *face palm*
Once again, no comment.
"Hug me!" Says the panda bear.
I drew this for Small Dolls In a Big World, it's supposed to be Kanani at the beach, with the sunset behind her.
There's Gruff!
That's all I think I'll post, but I may share more of my artwork in the future. Do you like to draw? If so, what are you best at? I love hearing from you in the comments! Bye!

I Attempt Poetry
Hello!
It's very, very late. But, it's Friday so it doesn't matter! I'm sorry I haven't posted in a few days... I've been busy. Today I was looking at some other writing blogs, and I found that a lot of people write poetry! I've never really attempted writing a poem... Unless you count old school-projects. I figured I'd try it out, and so, I will write a poem to match a picture I found.(that I unfortunately cannot post due to technical difficulties) Just pretend there's a photo of a doe in the snow below. (I did not mean to make that rhyme! No joke!) :P Anyway... Here we go!
Light foot steps,
Graceful movements,
Swift leaps,
Calm eyes,
Walking slowly,
Until she needs to run,
Then she is like a lightning bolt,
Flashing away,
But not without her fawn.
She protects her young,
With love as strong as any mother's,
She is beautiful in her ways,
She is a deer.
Okay... Tell me that wasn't awful. I know, it was. I'll keep practicing though! I'll try and write you a better poem after I practice a bit. Until then, what did you think of this one? Do you like to write poetry? If so, why? If not, why not? Please let me hear from you in the comments! Bye!

The Dragon's Awakening
Hello!
I have a new goal. Each day I will write a short story, just a paragraph or two. I am doing this to develop my writing. Basically, I'm practicing! I probably won't share all of my writing with you, but today I will. Inspired by the following picture prompt, here is, The Dragon's Awakening.
The Dragon's Awakening
"I have something to show you." Yuko told his best friend Ben, "But you have to promise not to tell anyone about it, it's a secret." "I promise." Ben said without a doubt. "Okay..." Yuko said. He reached into his pocket, emptied a brown pouch into his hand, and cupped his hands over the unknown object. "What is it?" Ben asked, Peering at Yuka's clasped hands with curiousity. Slowly, Yuka opened his hands, revealing a tiny, black, winged reptile. Ben stared at it with a gaping mouth. "The dragons are back." He murmured.
So... What do you think? This is my 3rd writing style I use.The others are displayed in The Ghost Of Mulberry Lane and Beyond. Which of these three pieces of my writing is your favorite?

How are you? I'm hoping you're good. I am doing fairly fine myself. Kathryn, at Hobbits and Hippogriffs recently tagged me for a book or reading challenge! So... I have to answers some questions, and tag some people. So... I tag:
Lydia (Through The Wardrobe)
Rukiya (Shine N Elevate)

1.April TBR (To be read?)
It's well into May... But I'd like to finish the Percy Jackson and The Olympians series by the end of May,
2.Book or series you would like to see as a movie?
Hmm... Leven Thumps and The Gateway To Foo... That would make an awesome movie.
3. Overhyped book or author?
I'm so sorry Kathryn but, Tolkien. I just... Don't get what all the fuss is about. His books are... Meh.
4.The best book series you will ever read?
Oh there are so many amazing series! Warriors, Ember, Percy Jackson, Hunger games, The Penderwicks...I could go on and on.
5.The first Hunger Games movie was definitely NOT as good as the book!!!
6.Books that just made you cry?
Oh sad books... :( I cried when reading Warriors, I cried when reading Cracker, I cried in so many sad but great books.... I get really attached to the characters I'm reading about.
7. Book that you're currently reading? Give it a quick rating.
I actually am not reading anything... I finished Sea Of Monsters by Rick Riordon yesterday though. It was awesome. 9/10 rating
8.A book series you just didn't like?
I didn't really like LOTR or The Hobbit...
9.Book that you haven't read but really need to?
All my friends want me to read "Divergent".
10. If you could only read 5 books for the rest of your life what would they be? (No series!)
Okay... I'm going to try and get some balance between genres here... The Lightning Thief, The Penderwicks, Catching Fire, Mrs.Frisby and The Rats Of Nymh, and Sunset. That's pretty balanced... Some YA, some classics childrens, some animal-based, yep.
This was super fun! Oh and I'm supposed to replace #10, so for the people I tagged, What character from a book reminded you of yourself the most? Have fun! And have a nice day! Bye!

The Ghost Of Mulberry Lane
Hi! I found an interesting picture prompt, (via Google Images) and decided to write a short story for it! I present to you, The Ghost Of Mulberry Lane!
(Sorry Blogger won't let me post the picture for some reason...)
The legend of The Ghost of Mulberry Lane started on a breezy summer day in 1972. Mandy Johnson was riding her bicycle along the old dirt road of Mulberry Lane, when she spotted an old woman reading a book on a bench. The cover of the book was tattered and worn, but the lady was not so. She had light wrinkles by her eyes, and her hair was gray, but the woman had an elegant black dress, and her gray hair was long and flowing. What Mandy didn't realize- was that Mrs.Pepperson's hair was not only flowing... But glowing as well. Mandy approached her and snickered, she loved pranking her neighbors, and Mandy was already thinking of all the ways she could snatch the lady's book and run... Or pull her black feathered hat right off her head from behind the bench. Mandy, crouched behind a nearby bush, was a very naughty, very mischievous girl. Then, before Mandy could make her move, Mrs.Pepperson disappeared, just vanished. Mandy was petrified in fear, but she moved just an inch to look onto the seat of the bench, where in neat cursive handwriting, a note was written. The note read, You never prank a ghost... Ever. And from that day on, the neighbors didn't have to worry about naughty children in their bushes, Mrs.Pepperson had taken care of that.
What did you think? That was my first try at writing about a ghost, but I decided I wouldn't make it scary anyway. I feel like it was an only an o-k short story, but it was a great writing exercise! Please leave your input in the comments! Bye,

Contest Entry
'Ello!
Tenley here. Dancing In The Moonlight is holding a writing contest! My little author wanna-be self just had to enter, so here's my entry! I hope you all like it. ;) Here is the prompt I chose:
Now... Here's what I wrote! Or typed... I used my typewriter for this, now I'm just copying it here.
I steadied the wobbling ladder, and took a deep breath. "This is it." I told myself. The air was still. It was like the world was waiting for me to move, and I knew that the decision I made, to climb or not to climb, would change my life forever. Shakingly, I placed my right foot on the bottom step, and then positioned my left next to it. Then I began my way up, on the Ladder Of The Sky. "This is where you shall discover your destiny." The Empress's words echoed in my ears. She had told me this before she left me in the wheat field where the ladder was located. I was going very slow, but I was at least sixty feet up in the air. "Don't look down." I thought, but I looked anyway. My heart skipped a beat. I'd never had a fear of heights, but being in a airplane is one thing, being suspended on a step ladder in the clouds is a completely different thing. My legs went numb... And I dropped off the ladder. Plumeting through the fog, I spread my arms out wide. I'd never really had much meaning, I was more or less at peace with the fact that I was about to die. But that day was not the day I would die. I felt something cold on my back and I stopped falling. I stopped falling and flapped my wings. I had wings! I had found my destiny! I was a fairy. One of the most powerful beings of The Sky.
What did you think? I really challenged my self with this, I didn't want to write in my usual style. It was REALLY hard! I don't think it turned out that good to be honest, but I learned from it and had fun nonetheless. I'd love to hear what you thought of it! Tell me in the comments! Until next time,

Beyond, Part 4!
Hi! I just got part 4 all ready and edited! I hope you like it! Please leave your input in the comments!
"Brooke..." Jade breathed, "We need to get out of here. Now. Run."Jade whispered. Then I saw them behind me, armed soldiers, King Rafasi's soldiers. Quickly, I nodded at Jade, and we sprinted away from the men, agile with our jumps over brush and fallen trees. We ran away from Malum Woods, we ran east, towards Giifadail, one of the few kingdoms we were,(partially) welcome in.
So... Did you like it? Are you excited for Part 5?

Hi guys... I have a little question for you, is my writing terrible? You guys seem to think so. :( I got 0 comments on the "Beyond" story parts... That's why I haven't posted Part 4. I'm starting to think my writing isn't good enough to post... Is that true? If so, I'll stop posting it so you don't have to deal with it. Please be honest, Am I a bad writer?

Parts 1, 2, and 3 of my story, "Beyond"
Hi! As my first blog post I'd like to get you all caught up with my writing! I post my book in parts (usually 2 or 3 paragraphs at a time) And so far, I have posted 3 of them! They were all originally posted on The Sunshine Dollies, but now I will be posting my writing on this blog. :) So, enough of my babbling, here are the parts!
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Do you like it so far? I certainly hope so! Part 4 is coming soon!
~Tenley
Part 1
I darted around the foggy forest, trying to find an opening in the misty shadows. "It's like a maze in here!" I thought. I spotted something coming my way, so I immediately scrambled under a holly-bush.
Stealthily curving through the trees, a silent shark flew into my sight with spooky ease. I clutched the periwinkle amulet that hung loosely around my neck. The shark slowly approached my bush and I pressed myself to the ground clenching my teeth.
I knew the shark had seen me. Part 2
"HEY BIG GUY! LOOKY OVER HERE!" I heard a shout. I knew immediately that it was my older sister Jade, coming to my rescue yet again. Jade pulled out a silver sword, and I watched as she skillfully slashed and jabbed at the beast before me. "Run Brooke!" Jade yelled at me, but I didn't budge. I wasn't leaving her alone.
Jade continued yelling at me, but I just watched as she sliced the shark one last time, sending it to the ground with a thud. "Are you okay Jade?" I asked, running to my sister. She scowled at me as blood streamed down her arm. Jade pulled a cloth out of her satchel and pressed it onto a deep gash on her shoulder, wincing as she did so.
I gasped. Jade just stared at me disapprovingly. She roughly grabbed my wrist, and tugged me through the woods. It was around twenty minutes before we came out into a wide clearing, the evil of the forest behind us.Part 3
"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!" Jade screamed at me. I leaned back, frightened. Jade continued, "SINCE MOM DIED I'VE BEEN WORKING VERY HARD FOR YOU, AND YOU REPAY ME BY ALMOST GETTING US BOTH KILLED?!" "I... I didn't mean to... I mean, I just..." I trailed off, unable to think of an excuse.
"Oh, you didn't mean to huh?" Jade screamed on, "Well then what were you doing in Malum Woods? Hmm?" "I... I..." I showed her the amulet. Jade's eyes grew wide at the site of the jewel. "Where did you get that?!" She asked me, gasping as she tapped it's sparkling surface. "In... In the forest." I said softly. Jade saw right through my lie. "You stole it didn't you!" Jade stepped back, she looked scared. We both knew that with me being only 12, Jade would be the one responsible for any crime I committed.Do you like it so far? I certainly hope so! Part 4 is coming soon!

I'm Tenley. I love writing, reading, dolls, and horses. I dream of being an author someday. I take riding lessons twice a week, and it's another dream of mine to own my own horse! I may not post on this blog as much as I do on The Sunshine Dollies, but I hope you'll enjoy Wild Among The Flowers anyway.
Why I started this blog
I started this blog as to stop bombarding the readers of The Sunshine Dollies with non doll-related stuff. I selected the name "Wild Among The Flowers" simply because it sounds beautiful. :)
What to expect her at Wild Among The Flowers
Expect lots of reading, writing, and randomness! I am currently working on a story called "Beyond" and I'm constantly reading different books. I have several posts already planned for this blog, so you'll just have to wait and see for the most part!
So, thanks for reading! I hope you'll enjoy my new blog!
